Professional Experience
My research interests focus on toxicity induced by persistent organic pollutants (POPs), specializing in how to detect them in biological matrices and quantify their effect in mixture form. I have been extensively working with POP induced-toxicology for the last five years. I am competent in applying various techniques in toxicology, biochemistry, biomolecular, and prediction models for mixture effects. I have been a member of Society of Environmental Toxicology and Chemistry (SETAC), The European Society of Toxicology In Vitro (ESTIV), and Belgian Society of Toxicology and Ecotoxicology (BelTox). As the holder of Erasmus Mundus and INT-MSCA scholarships, I appreciate transferring knowledge and creating connections by establishing strategic partnerships and joining secondments, summer schools, courses, and conferences specializing in toxicology, which are indispensable for me to thrive as a scientist in toxicology.
01/09/2020- Present: Postdoctoral researcher
• Department of Biomedical Sciences and Veterinary Public Health
Swedish University of Agricultural Sciences, Sweden
• Work in the CETCHAA project: Combination effects of toxic chemical compounds and elements on child/adolescent health – an integrated epidemiological and bioactivity testing approach, and the DANTE project: Effect-directed analysis as a tool towards a non-toxic environment – identification of mixture effects and toxicity drivers in water
• Key tasks: use a battery of in vitro cell-based assays to study toxicity pathways and risk assessment of mixtures of chemicals contaminating human bodies based on epidemiological approach and water samples based on effect-directed analysis
01/06/2020-31/08/2020: Research Assistant
