Bio
Tatiana MF Patrício is PhD Integrated Researcher and member of the scientific board of the Centre for Rapid and Sustainable Product Development (CDRSP-Polytechnic Leiria), PT. She is the PI of the project ‘‘BioRobotBeads, ERDF/Portugal 2020/COMPETE, No. 47081”, is member team of several IDI projects and she is responsible of Materials Chemistry and Materials Characterisation Laboratory.
She has been highly enrolled in management, coordination, and elaboration of national and international projects (funded by Portuguese Foundation for Science and Technology, Portuguese National Innovation Agency, FP7, H2020, among others), acquiring about 2 M€ of funding for CDRSP-PL (last two years). She is author or co-author of several scientific papers, chapters, author and co-author of 3 national patents and 1 international patent, invited as reviewer of scientific journals, jury of academic issues and tutoring several young researchers.
She has a first degree in Biomechanics and Master´s degree in Engineering Design and Product Development, both obtained in the School of Technology and Management of the Polytechnic Institute of Leiria. From 2009 to 2014, she carried out research activities in CDRSP-Polytechnic Leiria, with the focus on scaffolds fabrication by additive manufacturing; IDI projects development; writing projects applications and she was also responsible of the characterisation materials laboratory.
In 2014, she received a Marie Curie Research Fellowship denominated as “Development of superparamagnetic scaffolds for Bone Tissue Engineering” of the European Project Bio inspired Bone Regeneration, G.A. Nº 607051. The best-in-class strategies to obtain bio-inspired superparamagnetic hybrid microspheres for bone tissue engineering were investigated in the Institute of Science and Technology for Ceramics, (Faenza, IT). In 2017, she was awarded the PhD degree in Biomedical Sciences, and she has successfully accomplished all the requirements for the label “Doctor Europaeus” as stated in the UNIBO Internal regulation (Università di Bologna).
Her knowledge in chemistry, materials synthesis, and characterisation, engineering, highlighting the use of several cell-based techniques were strongly improved with the PhD position (ISTEC-CNR, IT), in the secondments in well-known international labs, hospitals and companies (U.Reading (UK, 2010); Fujifilm (NL, 2014), Rizzoli Orthopaedic Institute (IT, 2016), Erasmus Medical Center (NL, 2016)) and with her national and international collaborations. Her expertise in IDI project management was also enriched during her position as R&D Project coordinator (Vangest group, PT).
