Tarik Issad

Tarik Issad received a PhD in Biological Sciences at the University of Paris. After a two-years post-doc in Bristol (UK), he obtained a tenure position at the CNRS. Director of Research at the CNRS since 2000, his laboratory has been one of the pioneer groups involved in the development of the BRET technology for the study of protein-protein interaction in living cells. He is also interested in the regulation of protein activity by O-GlcNAcylation, in the context of diabetes and cancer, and has provided the first evidence that FoxO transcription factors are O-GlcNAcylated. Since 2017, he is Co-Director of the Endocrinology, Metabolism and Diabetes Department of the Cochin Institute. In 2019, he obtained a Master Degree in Philosophy and History of Science from the University of Paris.
