Bio
Tannia is a Pharmaceutical Chemist from the University of Cartagena (Colombia). After four years working in the petrol industry (ExxonMobil) as QA/QC Supervisor went to Michigan State University (USA) to do a PhD in Environmental Toxicology to study the effects of environmental contaminants on steroid hormone production and function. She then obtained a Postdoctoral Fellowship at the Wellcome Trust Sanger Institute to design and optimize tandem affinity purification methods to elucidate protein networks in yeast and stem cells, combining genomic and proteomic approaches. Before joining CRUK CI, as a Research Associate at the Cambridge Institute for Medical Research, she worked on characterizing the protein and miRNA content of urinary exosomes, evaluating their clinical relevance.
