Bio
Professor Zari earned his BSc in Botany-Zoology in 1974 from King Saud University, Riyadh. In 1976, he became a demonstrator at King Abdulaziz University. He completed his MA in Biological Sciences 1981 at the University of Northern Colorado, USA. He returned to King Abdulaziz University in 1982 until 1984. He graduated from the University of Nottingham, UK in 1987, obtained his PhD in Energetics and Thermal Physiology. He became a professor in 1998. His research interests have been thermal biology, energetics, medicinal plants, diabetes, diets, pollution, physiology, ecology and biostatistics. Prof. Zari is currently an editor in Bol Latinoam Caribe Plant Med Aromat (BLACPMA) and was previously an editor in several scientific journals. He has received several medals, certificates and letters of recognition from Saudi Arabia and other countries. He has published many articles in international journals. Moreover, he wrote many essays in local newspapers and magazines. He is the author of the book "Food and Health" (in Arabic) and a chapter entitled "Bioactivity of Plant Essential Oils" in the book "Medicinal Plants: Biodiversity and Drugs".
