个人简介
Adebayo Akinboye AKINOLA is currently a professor and head of Department, Agricultural Economics, Obafemi Awolowo University, Ile-Ife where he has lectured for about 20 years. He has conducted research on the improvement of crop production activities within the framework of the use of resources (land, labour, capital, etc), their efficiency, productivity as well as their management in the context of the systems under which farmers operate.
He has practically been involved in the design, execution and dissemination of outputs of many national and international projects which include:
• Balanced Nutrients Management Systems (BNMS) project sponsored by Katholieke Universitiet, Leuven and International Institute of Tropical Agriculture (IITA).
• Impact Assessment and Adoption Studies on Roots and Tubers supported by CGIAR, Nigeria Country Plan Baseline and Varietal Monitoring Survey funded by Bill and Melinda Gates Foundation,
• Assessment of Smallholder Farmers’ Perceptions and Strategies for Adaptation to Climate Change which was supported by CGIAR Research Program on Climate Change, Agriculture and Food Security (CCAFS).
• Agricultural Economic expert in Yam Improvement for Income and Food Security in Africa (YIIFSWA), project implemented by IITA but funded by the Bill and Melinda Gates Foundation.
• Gendered Market Study on Hybrid Maize in Nigeria sponsored by African Agricultural Technology Foundation (AATF).
• Nigeria Country Plan Baseline and Varietal Monitoring Survey Sponsored by Bill and Mellinda Gates Foundation
His current researches are Institutionalizing Monitoring of Variety Adoption using Genotyping (IMAGE) sponsored by Bill and Melinda Gates Foundation and Innovating Tomato Supply Chain for enhanced Livelihoods in Nigeria funded by National Research Fund in Nigeria.
His work and activities which have extended to not less than ten African countries have strengthened his ability to work under different tight schedules and delivering milestones as at when due. The publication outlets of his research findings give succinct attestation to his ability to write good reports and relate well in multicultural and multidisciplinary environments.
He is an ardent believer in working towards sustainable development through community and strategic planning and cooperation especially in the field of Agriculture. In addition, he is an active participant in various volunteer work. Therefore, he would love to apply his skills in the best possible way to achieve the set goals and objectives of any organization he finds himself.
