Bio
Tomasz Rydzkowski Ph.D, D.Sc. Eng.
Associate Professor,
Professor of Machine building and exploitation at Koszalin University of Technology (since 2014) and at University of Warmia and Mazury in Olsztyn (since 2014 to 2019).
For over 25 years Tomasz Rydzkowski's interests in research related mainly to polymer processing technology, especially the issue of recycling technology of a variety of materials, including polymer and wood-polymer composites. Another area of his interest is wood also engineering and food processing technology as well as classical and modern food packaging techniques.
He is knowledgeable in machines and technology of processing and recycling of polymeric materials including expanded polistyrene. His scientific interests include classic polymer materials and modern materials, bioplastics and their composites and nanocomposites and issues of plastic degradation in various conditions, including seawater. He has experience in research and has a laboratory with equipment for testing the properties of materials and composites.
He is the author of more than 100 scientific publications in various fields, most of them dealing with the processing of polymeric materials and their properties. He publishes in Poland and abroad, is a reviewer of journal from the Philadelphia list (Industrial Crops and Products, Composites, Composites, Fotests, Nanomaterials, Archives of Metallurgy and Materials) and others: American Journal of Polymer Science and Technology, Plastics Processing. He is a member of the 19th Committee for the Development and Promotion of Young Science Workers Achievements PAN /O Lublin.
He has experience in implementing and supervising the implementation of research projects. Took part in realization of 5 research projects of KBN and Ministry of Science and Higher Education concerning processing and recycling of polymer materials (in one of the projects he was the Project leader). He participates in some expert commitees and supervises the implementation of scientific projects.
He has participated in many domestic and foreign scientific conferences, as well as didactic and scientific internships. He was also an scholarship at the IRC - Interdisciplinary Research Center in Polymer Science and Technology at University of Bradford in England.
As a part of his research, he cooperated with the companies/factories: TERMEX in Koszalin, ASTRUS Playgrounds in Koszalin, PUMAFol in Koszalin, DrinkTech in Krzywopłoty, the Vacuum Engineering Plant TEPRO in Koszalin, Bajgiel in Będzino, and also Institute of Materials Engineering of the Cracow University of Technology, the Faculty of Environmental Engineering of the Wrocław University of Technology, the Institute of Engineering of Polymer Materials and Dyes in Toruń, the Main Mining Institute in Katowice, Faculty of Mathematics, Physics and Techniques of the Kazimierz Wielki University in Bydgoszcz and many other scientific and industrial units.
Extends his skills and knowledge by acting as an Regional President of the Association of Engineers and Food Industry Technicians in Koszalin and an court expert from the list of the District Court in Koszalin in the field of: plastics processing, food processing machinery and equipment as well as refrigeration and air conditioning equipment. He has prepared about 40 technical court opinions and about 50 other various studies commissioned by enterprises.
