Diverse research interest anchored by metabolic syndrome and atherogenesis with majority of research directed at fundamental understanding of influences on atherogenesis and metabolic diseases (hypertension, diabetes mellitus, obesity and dyslipidaemia) with a focus on three primary aspects of atherogenesis: inflammation, endothelial dysfunction and oxidative stress. Previous research work was centred on the effects of natural products and/ or their bioactive compounds.
