RESEARCH INTERESTS:
Soil Science (Reclamation of salt-affected soils using soil amendments at North Delta Region; Soil degradation and ways to reduce it; Using growth Media on improving the Productivity and Quality of crops; Recycling Agricultural Waste and Production of Organic Fertilizers)
Irrigation management (Used the techniques and application of remote sensing to advance irrigation water practices; Crop Mapping for improving water management strategies; Irrigation scheduling using an IRWI Phone app; Rationalizing Water Used)
Laboratory Experiments (Supervise the Central Lab for Chemical analysis of Sakha Agricultural Research Station and Responsible for the field measurements, soil, water, and plant sample analysis in the laboratory and evaluating and reporting the obtained results; Operating of field and laboratory apparatus (TDR, spectrophotometer, atomic absorption spectrophotometer, pH meter, flame photometer, EC meter, etc.)).
SELECTED PROJECTS (MEMBER OF THE RESEARCH TEAM):
-SIDA Project “water sustainability and water productivity” (GCP/RNE/009/SWE) with the Food and Agriculture Organization of the United at El-Menia, Kafr El-Sheikh, and El-Sharqia governorates (2019 – 2021).
-IRWI phone app design in partnership with IWMI's Office in the Middle East and North Africa (MENA) Region, Soil, Water and Environmental Research Institute (SWERI), Agricultural Research Centre (ARC), and Modern Science and Art University in three governorates (Kafer-ElShiekh, Dakahlia, Beheira). Project financed by FAO and Netherland Government (2019 - 2020).
- Rationalizing Water Used in Agricultural Activities, Project financed by the Egyptian government (2018 - 2019).
- Egyptian School Student Projects arbitration, financed by the Ministry of education. Arbitration of the students' innovations in the agriculture, industry, and electricity generation fields, water treatment, and remote sensing programs (2018 - 2019).
- Integrated on-farm water management for orchard trees, field crops, and vegetables in old lands at Nile Delta. The project funded by Scientific Research Academy started from Nov 2015 to May 2017.
- On-farm irrigation development project (OFIDO) at Kafr El-Sheikh, Project financed by the OPEC Organization and the Egyptian government (2014 - 2017).
- On-farm water, soil management project (OWSOM) at Kafr El-Sheikh Responsible in the field of the project for irrigation practices and monitoring laboratory analysis, Project financed by the Canadian International Development Agency (CIDA) and the Egyptian government (2007 - 2010).
