Swaroop Sahoo

Swaroop Sahoo received the B.Tech. degree in electrical engineering from the College of Engineering and Technology, Bhubaneswar, in 2005, and the M.S. and Ph.D. degrees with specialization in RF remote sensing from Colorado State University, in May 2011 and May 2015, respectively. He has worked at KIIT University, Bhubaneswar, and Amritha university, Coimbatore, as Assistant Professor in the year 2015 and 2016, respectively. Later on he joined as an Assistant Professor with the Electrical Engineering Department, Indian Institute of Technology Palakkad, in 2016. He was the stream coordinator of Department of Electrical Engineering, IIT Palakkad in the academic year 2017 to 2018. He is also working on using beamforming techniques for improving phased array weather radar output. He is currently working on heart rate and breathing rate determination using FMCW radar. He has authored/coauthored more than 40 research papers. His research interests include radar signal processing for the detection of aircraft in chaff environment as well as for studying cloud microphysics. His research interests also include phased array antenna design and fabrication at various frequencies. Dr. Shaoo received an award as winner of “Defence India Startup Challenge 4” for the challenge “Target Detection in Chaff Environment”. He is the Director of Startup called Silverstreak Techscape Private Ltd.
