Neural Prostheses with the following emphases:
1. Auditory Prosthesis (with emphasis on low cost but effective Cochlear Implants for developing countries)
2. Visual Prosthesis (with emphasis on compact, eye-surface conformable Retinal Implant design using liquid crystal polymer (LCP))
3. Deep Brain Stimulation (with emphasis on smaller lighter, head mountable Deep Brain Stimulation design using liquid crystal polymer (LCP))
4. Dental Prosthesis (with emphasis on first demonstration of electrically stimulated Dental Implant effective for rapid bone growth , Peripheral Nerve Regeneration from 7 mm gap defect model of rat sciatic nerve, and Implantable Bioreactor for growing bone cells from stem cells in implanted condition)
5. Optical Neural Interface (with emphases on finding novel ways to interface neuron optically; first time report of neural recording using Surface Plasmon Resonance (SPR) sensor, First time demonstration of a non-invasive, label-free infrared recording of neural signals)
6. Neural Signal Processing and Circuits ( with emphasis on design for high noise, low signal neural signal processing)
