Sumanta Chatterjee

Dr. Sumanta Chatterjee has expertise in- remote sensing, regenerative agriculture, water management, drought, ecohydrology, soil moisture, soil health, and wildfire modeling. He currently works on - 1) Water use and vegetation health monitoring and modeling using remote sensing and ground data (e.g., SCAN, USCRN, ALERIFLUX, FLUXNET, NEON, etc.), 2) Evapotranspiration modeling, drought forecasting, and wildfire causality study using multi-sensor fusion of remote sensing data and time series analysis, 3) Soil health and prediction using digital soil mapping and machine learning algorithms, and 4) Modeling atmospheric gas and mass exchange from crop fields using eddy covariance flux tower and ground sensor data.
