Sue Radd is an Advanced Accredited Practising Dietitian (a credential awarded to less than 2% of dietitians in Australia) and one of Australia’s leading nutritionists and health communicators. She is frequently sought out for comment by the media and has conducted hundreds of print, radio and TV interviews during her career. Sue is Director of the Nutrition and Wellbeing Clinic in Castle Hill, and has consulted widely to the food and pharmaceutical industries in product development, communications and nutrition policy in Australia, New Zealand, Canada and the UK. She holds a Doctor of Philosophy Degree from the University of Sydney, where she researched the effects of the Mediterranean diet on thinking and memory to reduce the risk of dementia.
Recognised by her peers as an expert on plant foods and phytonutrients, Sue co-authored the internationally published Eat to Live, which has been translated to the Korean and French languages. She was awarded Winner of ‘Best Nutrition Writing’ at the Vittoria Australian Food Media Awards for The Breakfast Book, a wake-up guide to the most important meal of the day. Her most recent work is Food as Medicine: Eating for Your Best Health, which received the Gourmand World Cookbook Award for ‘Best Health and Nutrition Book in the world’ and is also available in German and Norwegian languages, as well as a US edition.
Sue is a well-known face at major nutrition conferences globally. Her ability to translate heavy science into anyone’s language and life makes her a popular speaker with multiple audiences. Her practical knowledge of food and cooking for today’s busy lifestyle is widely enjoyed. In 2010, Sue was awarded the Dietitians Association of Australia President’s Award for Innovation for her Culinary Medicine Cookshops.
Sue belongs to many professional organizations such as the Nutrition Society of Australia, Dietitians Association of Australia, Academy of Nutrition and Dietetics in the US and the Australian Institute of Food Science & Technology. She is a Fellow of the Australasian Society of Lifestyle Medicine. Within her action packed agenda Sue enjoys travelling, taking scenic walks and cooking for friends.
