Steven E. Kern

Steven E. Kern received his doctorate degree in bioengineering from the University of Utah. After completing his degree, he worked in the medical device and drug development industry before returning to Utah as a faculty member. He currently holds appointments in pharmaceutics, anesthesiology, and bioengineering and is a member of the University of Utah Pediatric Pharmacology Research Unit. His current research emphasis is on developing methods to use mathematical modeling and simulation of physiology, disease, and pharmacologic effect to maximize the knowledge that the researcher has at hand before initiating clinical trials.
