Dr. Broyles’s research interests focus on understanding how the different contexts in which we live – neighborhood, work, parks, social networks – shape our disease risks and health outcomes. Current research includes studying how current neighborhood and social environments, as well as the cumulative effects of neighborhood environments, affect the opportunities for healthy eating and physical activity, obesity, health, and the aging process.
