Bio
St. J. Dixon-Warren was born in Meadow Lake, SK, Canada. He received a degree in chemistry (with honors) from Simon Fraser University, Burnaby, BC, Canada, and the Ph.D. degree in chemical physics from the University of Toronto, Toronto, ON, Canada, in 1992, under the supervision of John C. Polanyi. His dissertation concerned direct evidence for charge transfer photodissociation of carbon tetrachloride on silver.
He then spent two years as NATO Postdoctoral Fellow with the University of Cambridge, Cambridge, U.K., working in David King's and Richard Palmer's Laboratories, and six months as a Postdoctoral Fellow with the Joint Institute for Laboratory Astrophysics, University of Colorado, Boulder, under the supervision of Carl Lineberger. He then joined the faculty at Washington State University for four years before moving on in 1999 to a position as an Analytical Scientist with Bookham Technology (formerly Nortel Networks Optical Components), Ottawa, ON, Canada. His current interests are focused on surface and interface analysis using tools such as Auger electron spectroscopy and various forms of scanning probe microscopy, such as scanning spreading resistance microscopy, scanning capacitance microscopy, and scanning voltage microscopy. He is the author or coauthor of more than 40 research publications.
Dr. Dixon-Warren was the recipient of the Society for Chemical Industry (Canadian Section) Merit Award at Simon Fraser University.
