His research interests focus on Organic chemistry, especially in energetic materials and medicinal chemistry field. Srinivas became interested in chemistry during his graduation looking at small drug molecules and natural products.
At his first postdoc at Idaho, Srinivas synthesized various small heterocyclic molecules with a particular focus on secondary energetic materials for defence applications. These molecules continue to serve as potential candidates in energetic materials. Srinivas hopes that the materials which he prepared having real-time use in the society. In his second postdoc at Hamilton, he synthesized various small heterocyclic molecules with a particular focus on bioactive compounds towards the screening of antibiotics, anticancer and anti-obesity. The few newly synthesized molecules had good potential for the given studies.
