Bio
A chemical engineer, passionate about nanotechnology and innovative manufacturing processes. Current research focuses on:
- risk and (nano)safety aspects of nanomaterials:
- performing on-site airborne exposure assessments
- risk evaluation of innovative nano-enabled manufacturing technologies using process hazard analysis (e.g., Failure Mode and Effect Analysis (FMEA), Fault-Tree Analysis (FTA), Bow-Tie, etc.)
Previous research focused on the development of smart and advanced manufacturing platforms for continuous nanomaterial synthesis, as well as sustainability assessment of biodiesel production lines using various biomass feedstocks (i.e., microalgae).
An interdisciplinary professional experience including responsibilities such as supervision and maintenance of production lines, development/optimisation of manufacturing process lines, as well as administration of quality assurance and health and safety ISO standards. Academically, holds an MEng in Chemical Engineering and an MSc in Energy Production and Management from the National Technical University of Athens, as well as a PhD in continuous flow nanoparticles synthesis from University College London.
