Sourav Bandyopadhyay

Sourav Bandyopadhyay received the bachelor’s degree in information technology from the Kalyani Government Engineering College, in 2016. He is currently pursuing the master’s degree in computer science and engineering with the National Institute of Technology (NIT) Calicut. Throughout the academic career, he has shown a keen interest in the intersection of computer science and biology. Specifically, he has been interested in the field of drug repositioning, which involves identifying new uses for existing drugs by analyzing their effects on biological networks. This project involves building a comprehensive network that incorporates data on drug targets, drug-drug interactions, and disease pathways. By analyzing this network, he hopes to identify new drug candidates that could be repurposed to treat a variety of diseases. His research interests include bioinformatics, computational biology, artificial intelligence, machine learning, and natural language processing.
