Career Trajectory
Bio
Dr. Soumyadip Bhunia is currently a Post-Doctoral Fellow in the Institute of Chemistry at The Hebrew University of Jerusalem, working with Prof. Sanford Ruhman. His current research interest is the ultrafast exciton dynamics in new light-harvesting materials using femtosecond spectroscopy. He received his Ph.D. in 2021 from the Indian Institute of Science Education and Research Kolkata (IISER-K) under Prof. Pradipta Purkayastha. He has done his master's from Vidyasagar University with a specialization in physical chemistry and qualified CSIR-NET and GATE in chemical science. During this period, He has explored the energy and electron transfer dynamics in different luminescent metal nanoclusters, carbon nanodots, and their ultrafast light-harvesting prospects. Before Joining Hebrew University, He was a Post-Doctoral Fellow in the Discipline of Chemistry at IIT Gandhinagar, working with Prof. Saumyakanti Khatua where he worked on the fluorescence enhancement of weakly emitting dyes using gold nanorod plasmons.
