Bio
Sören Hese received the M.Sc. degree in remote sensing, image processing, and applications from the University of Dundee, U.K., and the Ph.D. degree from the Technical University of Berlin, Germany, in 1995 and 2001, respectively.
He joined the German Aerospace Center (DLR) at Berlin Adlershof in 1997 and, since 2002, he is with the Department for Earth Observation, Friedrich-Schiller-University Jena, Germany. Currently, he is an assistant professor at this Department. His research interests include image object formation with HSR Earth observation data, graph theoretical data analysis, landscape metrics in image data classification, structural image data analysis for urban areas, flood and devastation mapping, as well as climate change related land cover change. He conducts and supervises research within the framework of national and international projects.
