Bio
Sophie Dupuy-Chessa is a Professor at the University Grenoble-Alpes and the Head of the Computer Science department at the Grenoble Technical Institute.
She got her PhD thesis in 2000 in the domain of software engineering, more precisely in software modeling. Then she has two post-doctoral positions: she was lecturer at University of Geneva and research scientist at Xerox Research Center Europe. She develops her research between information systems and human computer interaction.
Currently, her research interest concerns emotions and their use for user interface evaluation and adaptation. She supervised or supervises 14 PhD students and participated to many projects (for instance, European ITEA USiXML, national investment for the future Connexion, ANR MOANO). She participates to national and international working groups as the IFIP 2.7/13.4 group about human computer interaction engineering of which she is secretary since 2022. From 2021 to 2023, she was the head of the French Human-Computer Interaction Association (AFIHM).
