Bio
Sonia Ancuța Socaci, holds a Bachelor degree in Chemistry (2004), follow by a PhD in Biotechnology (2009). She is the head of the Laboratory for Testing of Food Quality and Safety (2013) (http://erris.gov.ro/Laboratory--For-Testing-Food), having a solid background in the field of essential oils, bioactive compounds and food waste exploitation, with expertise in the chemistry and biochemistry of plants secondary metabolites (volatile compounds), including modern extraction methods, characterization by chromatographic techniques (GC-MS, HS/GC-MS, ITEX/GC-MS, HPLC), assessment of biofunctional activities, as well as in the design of experiments and data analysis. She was involved in numerous interdisciplinary research projects (>20), 4 as project coordinator. Her research activity was valorized by publishing over 70 ISI articles in journal indexed in Web of Science (cited in highly ranked ISI journals, including Nature and Chemical Reviews), 9 chapters in international books (Intech, Elsevier), H-index 9 (acc. to WoS) and 13 (acc. to GoogleScholar).
