个人简介
His research is focused on fuel spray dynamics, spray combustion, and biomass thermochemical conversion. His work includes both experimental diagnostics and numerical modeling. The goal is to develop accurate computational models to predict complex reacting flow behaviors. He teaches courses related to thermal sciences. His awards and recognitions include ASME Fellow, the Myers-Uyehara Meritorious Paper Award, the Ralph R. Teetor Educational Award by SAE, and the Binger Professorship. He was an Associate Editor of ASME Journal of Engineering for Gas Turbines and Power; he is currently an editorial board member for the International Journal of Engine Research. Dr. Kong served as Program Director of the Combustion and Fire Systems Program and was also responsible for the Major Research Instrumentation Program at the National Science Foundation.
