个人简介
Dr. Sim received his BS from Department Chemical Engineering, Seoul National University, Korea in 1988, MS from Department of Chemical Engineering, Korea Advanced Institute of Science and Technology(Seoul), Korea, in 1990, and PhD from the Korea Advanced Institute of Science and Technology(Daejeon), Korea, in 1994. He was a senior researcher at Massachusetts Institute of Technology(MIT) from 1994 to 1996.
Dr. Sim has been a professor at the School of Chemical and Biological Engineering, Korea University since 2011; and he was an Associate Professor at the School of Chemical Engineering, Sungkyunkwan University from 2002 to 2011; Adjunct Professor at Kwangwoon University(1999~2002) and Sejong University(2000~2001); Visiting Scholar at University of California Los Angeles(UCLA), USA(1998~1999) and University of California, Irvine(UCI), USA(2008~2009); Senior Research Scientist at Korea Institute of Science and Technology(KIST) from 1996 to 2002.
He has actively participated in his academic societies as a Tenure member of The Korea Institute of Chemical Engineers, Korea(1996-present) and Korean Society for Biotechnology and Bioengineering, Korea(1998-present). He was also a Regular member of American Chemical Society(ACS), USA(1999-2006). He takes part of professional service and activities in his field as editorial board member of Korean Journal of Biotechnology and Bioprocess Engineering(2002-2005) and Biotechnology & Bioprocess Engineering(2004-present); the editor of Korean Journal of Microbiology and Biotechnology during 2002-2005.
He has been awarded for the best research and papers such as Presidential R&D Award, Seok Myung Research Award, Duck San Research Award, Achievement Award, Superior Paper Presentation Award, IBA award from IBA IFIBIOP etc. He published more than 250 technical papers (SCI) including Nature Biotechnology, Nature Communications, Advanced Materials etc, and holds about 100 domestic and international patents.
