Career Trajectory
Bio
Siun-Chuon Mau received the B.S. degrees (summa cum laude) in electrical engineering, mathematics, and physics from the University of Pennsylvania, Philadelphia, in 1994, and the M.S. and Ph.D. degrees in physics from Princeton University, Princeton, NJ, in 1996 and 2000, respectively.
He was a Research Associate from 2000 to 2003, and a Research Professor since 2003 at the Wireless Information Network Laboratory (WINLAB), Department of Electrical and Computer Engineering, Rutgers University, Piscataway, NJ. His research activities include systems and protocol design, and behavioral studies of wireless networks. Topics of interest include coordination and cooperation of heterogeneous wireless systems (cognitive radios, games, and pricing), exploitations of spatial degrees of freedom, as well as opportunism in the communications and organizations of ad hoc networks, and the implications of size scales of sensor networks.
Dr. Mau's honors include the William E. Stephens Memorial Prize awarded by the Physics Department, University of Pennsylvania.
