Sining Zhou (S’00–M’02) received the B.S. and M.S. degrees from the University of Science and Technology of China, Hefei, China, in 1994 and 1997, respectively, and the Ph.D. degree from the University of California, Los Angeles (UCLA), Los Angeles, CA, USA, in 2002, all in electrical engineering.
In 2000, he interned with RF Micro Devices, San Jose, CA, USA, working on IEEE 802.11a wireless LAN receiver front-ends. In 2001, he interned with Silicon Storage Technology, Santa Monica, CA, USA, working on the radio for UNII-band wireless speaker system. From 2002 to 2005, he was with Realtek, Irvine, CA, USA, designing the receiver analog baseband and transmitter loopback calibration for IEEE 802.11abg wireless LAN. This wireless LAN transceiver won Best Choice of Computex_Taipei 2004 award. From 2006 to 2012, he was with MStar Communications (acquired by MediaTek), Irvine, CA, USA, as a product design manager, working on DVB-S tuner, RFID reader, and 2G/3G mobile transceiver. He is now with Broadcom Corporation, Irvine, CA, USA, as a Scientist, Principal, designing the 4G mobile transceiver transmitter baseband, IEEE 802.11ac wireless LAN 2.4 GHz transmitter, and GPS receiver. His research interests include CMOS RF integrated circuit design and analog/mixed signal circuit design. He has authored or coauthored nine journal and conference publications and holds eight U.S. patents.
