Bio
Neil C. Sims received the Ph.D. degree in remote sensing from the University of Canberra, Australia, in 2005. The subject of his dissertation was the use of Landsat Thematic Mapper data to examine the landscape-scale structure and functioning of inland floodplain ecosystems, which involved the development of methods for image calibration, inundation detection and landcover classification and analysis.
He is currently a Research Scientist at the CSIRO, Australia, where his activities include the use of high spatial resolution and multi-temporal image data to map the health and functioning of forest ecosystems, inundation in Australia's inland wetland ecosystems and ecosystem responses to inundation.
