Research Interests
These are mainly in the field of differential geometry, but branching into algebraic geometry and topology. There is emphasis on the study of manifolds, typically Riemannian or almost complex ones, and often defined with reference to the action of a Lie group. The main focus at present is on the construction of Ricci-flat metrics, working within the US-based Simons Collaboration on Special Holonomy in Geometry, Analysis, and Physics. Other areas of interest include:
Twistor spaces and projective geometry
Almost complex manifolds
Quaternionic and exotic geometries
Harmonic maps between manifolds
Spinors and differential operators
Nilmanifolds
Combinatorial geometry
Mathematical software and visualization
