Simon O'Keefe received the M.A. degree in engineering and management from University of Cambridge, Cambridge, U.K., in 1986; the M.Sc. degree in operational research from Lancaster University, Lancaster, U.K., in 1987; and the M.Sc. degree in information processing and the D.Phil. degree in computer science from University of York, York, U.K., in 1993 and 1997, respectively. He is currently a Lecturer with the Department of Computer Science, University of York. He was previously an Operational Research Analyst with Her Majesty's Customs and Excise, London, U.K. He is a member of the York Centre for Complex Systems Analysis. His research interests principally include neural networks and pattern recognition, data mining, and novel computation. Dr. O'Keefe is a Fellow of the Higher Education Academy.
