Silas Michaelides

Silas C. Michaelides received the B.Sc. degree in mathematics from the University of Thessaloniki, Thessaloniki, Greece, the Masters degree in agricultural meteorology from the University of Reading, Reading, U.K., the Ph.D. degree in meteorology from the University of Thessaloniki, Greece, and the Masters degree in public sector management from the Cyprus International Institute of Management, Nicosia, in 1973, 1983, 1984, and 1992, respectively. He is currently with the Meteorological Service of Cyprus, Nicosia, since 1974. He has done research on a wide range of meteorological issues. His current interests include processing of meteorological radar data, applications of artificial neural networks in meteorology, and operational applications of numerical weather prediction products.
