Dr Siddhartha Banerjee is a Postdoctoral Researcher at the University of Alabama, USA. His current research is focused on understanding the mechanism of amyloid aggregation which leads to fatal neurodegenerative diseases including Alzheimer's and Parkinson's disease. He applies direct single molecule imaging and spectroscopic techniques including atomic force microcopy (AFM) combined with IR imaging to understand the structural evolution of amyloid protein aggregates from early stage oligomers to mature fibrils.
