Bio
Shu-Li Julie Wang's research interests are mainly on Environmental Children's Health regarding exposure to persistent organic pollutants (i.e., PFASs, PBDEs, PCBs), phthalates, and toxic metals (i.e., arsenic, lead, mercury) and the health effects on the endocrine system, neurocognitive function, and immune balance. Julie is also interested in searching for environmental factors contributing to obesity and diabetes, including chemical exposure (i.e., essential elements) and lifestyles. Julie would like to investigate the interaction between the environment and genes to understand how the environment may affect gene expression and how genetic factors might modify the effect of toxins. Julie's current research includes Early life exposure to phthalate and arsenic and later effects through epigenetic alterations.
