Shuchao Duan

Shu-Chao Duan was born in Suizhou, Hubei, China, in 1980. He received the B.S. degree in physics from the China University of Geosciences (CUG) in 2004, the M.S. degree in theoretical physics (plasma) from the University of Chinese Academy of Sciences (UCAS), Beijing, China, in 2008, and the Ph.D. degree in physics (plasma) from the University of Science and Technology of China (USTC), Hefei, China, in 2018. From 2004 to 2005, he was with the Institute of Plasma Physics, Hefei Institutes of Physical Science, Chinese Academy of Sciences (CAS). From 2006 to 2008, he was a First-Generation (visiting) Student Member of the Institute for Fusion Theory and Simulation (IFTS), Zhejiang University (ZJU), Hangzhou, China. In 2008, he joined the Institute of Fluid Physics, China Academy of Engineering Physics (CAEP), Mianyang, China, where he is currently an Associate Professor. His current research interests include plasma physics, nuclear fusion, radiation sources, and dynamics of magnetically driven high-energy-density systems such as Z-pinches.
