Bio
Shriram Sethuraman received the B.E.(Hons.) degree in electronics and the M.Sc. (Hons.) degree in instrumentation and biological sciences from the Birla Institute of Technology and Science (BITS-Pilani), India, in 2001. In 2003 and 2007, he received M.S and Ph.D. degrees in biomedical engineering from The University of Texas at Aus-tin. Following his graduate work in 2007, Shriram joined Philips Research North America, Briarcliff Manor, NY, as a Senior Member of Research Staff and is currently engaged in several research projects in the areas of image-guided ultrasound therapy and electromagnetic sensor-based enhanced guidance of therapeutic procedures. His research interests are in the areas of medical imaging for therapeutic and diagnostic applications, ultrasound-mediated drug delivery, photoacous-tic imaging, and Doppler ultrasound applications. Dr. Sethuraman is a member of the IEEE and received the 2007 Student Paper Award at the IEEE International Ultrasonics Symposium, New York, NY, for his work on spectroscopic intravascular photoacoustic imaging.
