Shih-Jen Chen

Shih-Jen Chen received the M.D. degree from the School of Medicine, Kaohsiung Medical College, Kaohsiung, Taiwan, in 1987. After four years of residency and two years of vitreoretinal fellowship at the Taipei Veterans General Hospital (VGH), Taipei, Taiwan, he joined the Retinal Staff, VGH. He had his postdoctoral fellowship at the Wilmer Ophthalmological Institute, Johns Hopkins University, Baltimore, in 1999 and 2000. Currently, he is the Adjoined Instructor in Ophthalmology, School of Medicine, National Yang-Ming University and Clinical Assistant Professor, Ophthalmology, School of Medicine, National Defense Medical Center. His research interests include epidemiology and treatment of age-related macular degeneration and screening of diabetic retinopathy. Dr. Chen is a member of the Ophthalmology Society of Republic of China, the American Academy of Ophthalmology, and the Association for Research in Vision and Ophthalmology.
