个人简介
We are interested in molecular mechanisms that control inflammation, and granulocyte functions. Specifically we are studying the anti-microbial defense mechanisms and release of inflammatory mediators by granulocytes. Extracellular DNA trap formation by granulocytes is a newly defined anti-microbial mechanism. Previous reports from our group revealed that extracellular DNA trap formation by neutrophils, eosinophils, and basophils does not require their cell death, and DNA traps are composed of mitochondrial DNA and granule proteins. Our aim is to investigate molecular events required for programmed mtDNA release during extracellular DNA trap formation in mouse and human neutrophils. Our group has collaborations with scientists and clinicians from many international and local academic institutions.
