Shawon Barua

I am a doctoral researcher in the Aerosol Physics Laboratory of Tampere University. My background is Chemistry and I study the gas-phase oxidation processes of hydrocarbons in the atmosphere. Volatile hydrocarbons undergoing atmospheric oxidation lead to prompt formation of condensable material and subsequent aerosol, deteriorating the air quality. By demystifying the fate of hydrocarbon pollutants in the atmosphere, we could contribute to the atmospheric pollution related mitigation policies.
