个人简介
Sharryn grew up on farms in both the Mildura and Shepparton districts of Victoria, Australia where she enjoyed roaming fields, building rafts and connecting with animals. She completed her first teaching qualification in 1994 where she began work in the country area of Bendigo in a community based kindergarten. She returned to study in 2008 where she completed her next degree, achieving First Class Honours. Aside from teaching young children, she has worked in early intervention supporting children with disabilities and their families, in adult education supporting Indigenous early childhood educators in their communities and in management at the Victorian Education Department. Her research interests in the past have included transition to school and professional advocacy whilst her current projects revolve around mentoring and engagement through virtual spaces. She is a strong advocator for social justice and aims to continue researching ways that leadership and social media can shift from negativity and instead make a positive impact upon the lives of children, families, teachers and educators. She is currently a lecturer in the Faculty of Arts and Education at Australian Catholic University and teaches units relating to diversity and inclusion, teacher professionalism and digital technologies.
