个人简介
I was born in Sandhikharka-6, Arghakhanchi, a remote, beautiful, and mountainous area of western Nepal. Growing up there, I developed an interest in the yearly monsoon rainfalls and floods. After graduating from Tribhuvan University, Kathmandu, Nepal, I moved to Belgium to study in the Interuniversity Program in Water Resources Engineering (IUPWARE). After completing my master’s degree, I relocated to Japan in 2010 to begin my PhD at the University of Tsukuba under the supervision of Prof. Masayuki Maki. Since graduating in 2013, I have been working at the Storm, Flood and Landslide Research Division, National Research Institute for Earth Science and Disaster Resilience (NIED) on a range of different projects since 2013. My research has focused on radar-based quantitative precipitation estimation (QPE), precipitation nowcasting and hydrological analysis, which are important components of systems that aim to minimize or manage water-related disasters. I believe that this research makes a creative contribution to progress in the field of hydrology and meteorology.
