Hailing from a habitat which lacks modern civic facilities always offers you challenges while you have ambitions to upgrade yourself with the modern trends of academics and research. Same happened with me, as I grew-up in a remote village of Pakistan where the newspaper was the only linkage between me and modern world. Frequent reading of the newspaper in my teenage introduced me with the famous personalities from all aspects of life. Their achievements have induced in me the ambitions of dreaming big. And from the success stories of these personalities, I learned that the ambitions could be realized by virtue of patience, consistency and hard work. Following the same, I succeeded to get the BS, MS in Chemical Engineering and PhD in Energy Science & Engineering.
I preferentially opted to study engineering because I always feel fascinated with the name of engineer. After that in my professional carrer, I participated in the erection and commissioning of the coal fired boiler, power plant, gas pipeline and oil well-head compressors at the leading industries ICI and OMV Pakistan. Although, these positions are dream of any chemical engineer but my passion for discovering new always compelled me to go for the job which can satisfy my appetite for the research and innovations. Therefore, I opted to go for the higher studies and I was fortunate enough to get HEC-USAID scholarship for studying MS Chemical Engineering at COMSATS Lahore.
After completing the MS studies, I was offered an entry level job, named as research associate, by the same department where I completed my MS Chemical engineering. Despite entering in research-level job, the lust for higher education was not over so I started looking for a PhD. Because, for becoming an autonomous researcher it was imperative to go through this phase. My efforts in this regard resulted in securing a fully funded scholarship from DGIST South Korea. In PhD, I opted the topic of photocatalytic CO2 reduction owing to expand my prior expertise from renewable fuels to solar fuels.
