RESEARCH ACTIVITIES
The application of quasi-experimental, causal inference, and health equity-related methods to the following substantive areas:
- Prescription and non-prescription opioid use disorders and overdoses
- Firearm violence
- Suicides, self-harm, and mental health
- Gender-based violence
- Occupational injuries
His research involves using advanced analysis, causal reasoning and quasi-experimental methods on big data to understand the policy impact at the state and local levels. His current research examples include a number of opioid-related grants funded by CDC-two policy evaluations, FDA-causal reasoning research on the impact of abuse of opiates on opioid use disorder (OUD) and overdose, NIH-developing algorithms to better identify OUD; Connect people involved in justice with OUD's drugs.
