个人简介
Dr. Sergei Rouvimov is Research Associate Professor at Department of Electrical Engineering, and TEM Director at NDIIF, University of Notre Dame with over 25 years of scientific, research and engineering experience in semiconductor technology, nano-science and materials characterization. His research interests include nano-technology and nano-metrology, self-organized quantum and molecular structures for advanced micro- and opto-electronics applications, materials synthesis and characterization with emphasis on structure- properties relationship for novel materials, interfaces and devices, computational materials science, failure analysis, defect theory, and stress/strain engineering of semiconductor hetero-structures.
Dr. Rouvimov holds a PhD degree (1987) from A.F. Ioffe Physical-Technical Institute, Russian Academy of Sciences. Prior to Notre Dame, Dr. Rouvimov has held scientific positions at leading research centers and institutions, including the Ioffe Physical-Technical Institute, Russia (1980-1992), the Max-Planck Institute of Micro-structure Physics, Germany (1993-1994,1995), the Institute of Semiconductor Physics, Germany (1994), Lawrence Berkeley National Laboratory (1995-1999), Technology Center of SUMCO USA (1999-2007), the Portland State University (2008-2012) and University of Notre Dame (since 2012).
Dr. Rouvimov has worked on various materials science and nano-technology projects with over 130 collaborators all over the world including the Zh. Alferov (2000 Nobel Prize Laureate) research group. Dr. Rouvimov pioneered in high resolution electron microscopy characterization of pyramidal InGaAs quantum dots (http//www.esi.topics.com/quantumdots/authors/b1a.html). This research provided a significant contribution to the realization of the first low threshold QD injection lasers in collaboration between Ioffe Institute, TU Berlin, and Max-Planck Institute of Micro-structure Physics. He has authored and co-authored over 100 refereed journal articles and 2 book chapters, has given many invited talks, has served as a session chair and symposium organizer on several international scientific conferences. He has been nominated (2012) as outstanding student adviser by American Society of Physics Students (SPS).
