Dr. Seong Tae Kim is an assistant professor in Department of Computer Science and Engineering at Kyung Hee University. He was a postdoctoral research associate in chair for computer aided medical procedures, department of Informatics at Technical University of Munich, Munich, Germany. He finished Ph. D. at KAIST Image and Video sYstems Lab., Daejeon, South Korea, in 2019. He also received the B.S. degree from Korea University, Seoul, South Korea, in 2012 and the M.S. degree from KAIST, Daejeon, South Korea, in 2014. In 2015, he was a visiting researcher in Edward S. Rogers Sr. department of electrical and computer engineering at the University of Toronto, Ontario, Canada. Dr. Kim is a member of IEEE and SPIE. His research interests include machine learning, deep learning, medical image analysis, and biometrics. He is a recipient of Best Student Paper Award (2018) and Honorable Mentioned Poster Award (2015) from SPIE Medical Imaging, Samsung HumanTech Paper Award (2017), Best 10% Paper Award (2015) from IEEE International Conference on Image Processing, and Best Paper Award from Korea Multimedia Society (2012, 2016). He served as a program chair of IEEE ICIP 2015.
