Bio
Since the bachelllor, my area of specialization has been closely related to zoology, namely on evolutionary biology and ecophysiology among several herpetofaunal taxa.
Also, my interests are on ecotoxicology, molecular ecology and landscape genetic, statistical analysis.
Currently, I am interested in the investigation of the evolutionary process that have influence on coloration in diverse species of lizards. This taxa has a high diversity of colour patterns and polymorphisms. My aim is to dilucidated how and why this patterns evolves, making use of elevation gradient as study system.
In my post-doc I will intend to study how environemntal conditions along an elevation gradient affects the selection of different colour patterns. Furthermore, to discover the effects of this selected coloration on ecophysiology and social biology of the lizards.
Complementarya, given the importance of pigments in colorations, and especially in melanin-based coloration, I also really interested in functionality of melanins and the interactions between their numerous functions in the organisnms. Even, the relation of melanins to the melanocortin system ante its pleiotropic effects on hormones, oxidative stress and immune response, among other functions.
