Summary of Experience:
Sebastian Zlotnik is a materials scientist from Poland. He graduated from University of Silesia in 2007, and the master thesis topic was related to lead-free titanates with functional ferroelectric properties: "Characterization of Barium Strontium Titanate ceramics and effect of Cu doping on microstructure and dielectric properties". He won European scholarship (Erasmus) for short stay (1 semester) at University of Aveiro, for conducting a part of the master work. Then, he joined the Electroceramics group at UA, lead by Paula M. Vilarinho, in the CICECO - Centre for Research in Ceramics and Composite Materials. In 2010, he won individual PhD grant from portuguese funding agency for science, technology and innovation - Fundação para a Ciência e a Tecnologia (FCT): "Studies on High Polarizable Thin Films and Nano-layered Superlattices". He succeesfully graduated his PhD in Materials Science and Engineering in December 2015.
His main research interest is related to synthesis and characterization of inorganic oxides with complex structure, e.g. perovskite, and nitrides for optoelectronics. Structural (X-ray, Raman), microstructural (electron microscopy) and electrical characterization of thin oxide layers fabricated by solution deposition are his main specializations, but currently his research interest moved to semiconductors for optoelectronic applications.
Since 2017, he has worked as postdoctoral researcher in Warsaw on III-N epitaxial materials for advanced optoelectronics, and currently he works at Military University of Technology (Warsaw).
