Singleton’s research focuses on the chemical biology of DNA metabolism, especially as it relates to understanding the molecular basis of the evolution of antibiotic resistance in bacterial pathogens. The goal is to discover new small-molecule probes to tease apart important biological activities leading to antibiotic resistance, as well as to establish new druggable targets.
