Bio
Scott Smithers is a geomorphologist within the Earth and Environmental Sciences academic group in the College of Science and Engineering at James Cook University. His work is focussed on geomorphological processes and landscape development in tropical coastal catchments and environments, with a strong focus on research that informs management. Particular interests include reef growth and carbonate budgets, reef island morphodynamics, sea level, catchment sediment yields and water quality.
