Prof. Satish Kumar Sharma is educated from DIPSAR/COP, Delhi University. Has more than thirty years of experience in academics, research and pharma industry. Completed twenty research projects related to evaluation of analgesic, anti-inflammatory, hepatoprotective, diuretic, anti-oxidant, anti-hyperlipidemic, antiepileptic and antidiabetic activities of medicinal herbs. Six research projects handled in collaboration with esteemed research institutes viz DRDO, Delhi; AIIMS, New Delhi; Artemis Heart Institute, Gurugram; Biotech Park , Lucknow; Institute of Toxicology, Ghaziabad. He has published 110 research papers/ articles in referred National/International journals and abstract books. He has authored 3 books and 4 book chapters. He has guided 20 M. Pharm 9 Ph.D researchers. Prof. Sharma has delivered many invited talks/FDP and PDP sessions on important topics such as: Time Management, Essence of Teaching, Yoga and Holistic Personality, Stress Management, Human Values and Professional Ethics, Current Trends in Pharmaceutical Education, Research Methodology, Cardiovascular Pharmacology and Nutraceuticals etc. at various National/International forums. A research paper titled 'Pharmacological evaluation of aqueous extract of Syzigium cumini for its antihyperglycemic and antidyslipidemic properties in diabetic rats fed a high cholesterol diet—Role of PPARg and PPARa', has been published in 'Biomedicine & Pharmacotherapy', indexed by SCOPUS, SCI, WOB, Pubmed, Science Direct with an impact factor 3.74 and has 38 citations. Presented 45 papers in National and International Conferences. Participated in more than 100 National and International Conferences/Seminars/Workshops. Authored a chapter in a high quality book (AICTE approved) entitled ‘Research Methodology’. Co-authored a book ‘Biostatistics and Research Methodology’ (under print). Co-authored a book on ‘Pharmacognosy’. Reviewer and Editor of many Journals. Received best research paper award twice. Areas of research interest: Phytopharmacology, Pathology, Molecular Pharmacology and Cardiovascular Pharmacology.
