个人简介
Prof. Mathieu Sarracanie has been actively involved in MRI research since 2007. His current interests are in methodological developments for MRI that include fast-imaging techniques in low magnetic field regimes, multi-parametric imaging, and instrumentation for RF detection (custom low-frequency RF detectors and preamplifiers).
He was trained as a biomedical engineer (Université de Technologie de Compiègne, France) before he completed a Ph.D. in Physics in 2011 (Université Paris-Sud, France). He then worked as a post-doctoral researcher at Harvard University (Dept. of Physics) and MGH/HST Athinoula A. Martinos Center for Biomedical Imaging from 2011 to 2016, developing fast Overhauser-enhanced MRI and ultra-low magnetic field imaging at Boltzmann equilibrium.
Since May 2017, he is leading the Laboratory for Adaptable MRI Technology (AMT Lab) at Basel University Dept. of Biomedical Engineering, jointly with Prof. Najat Salameh. Dr. Sarracanie’s academic track is characterized by a highly multidisciplinary profile, from MRI physics to more applied electrical engineering and computer science, so to provide relevant solutions to current and future needs in medical diagnosis.
In April 2023 the AMT Center has relocated to the University of Aberdeen - Institute of Medical Sciences and Nutrition, looking to become an international leader in low-field MRI research and expanding its research portfolio with the addition of field cycling imaging (FCI).
